Choose the Date. Once you pick the date of your event, think of the type of invitations and choose the date you will want the R.S.V.P's returned.
Determine your Budget. Be realistic. Once you determine your number, do not go over it.
Make your List. This is the list of all the things you need to pull off your event. Type of event, invitations (don't forget postage), decorations, flowers, entertainment, party favors, photography, food and beverages; and an event planner to bring it all together.
Prioritize. This is where you decide what is more important to you. Is the food more important than the flowers? Would you rather have great music or beautiful decor? Once you have made these decisions, you can adjust your budget accordingly.
Choose your Vendors. Try to compare at least three in each category. Don't always go with the lowest price, it does not necessarily mean they will be the best. Examine contracts carefully to make sure there are no hidden charges and that taxes and tips are accounted for.
